European Social Fund
From 2007 - 2013 there will be over £176 million in European Union funding, which is ring-fenced for South Yorkshire. These funds support capital investment and business support (ERDF) and developing skills and helping unemployed people to get work (ESF). In addition, there are European funds for rural development (RDPE).
One Barnsley Investment Plan Group has received European funding to promote access to these funds and maximize their impact in the district by:-
- Integrating European funded investments with local strategies
- Raising Awareness and promoting
- Developing Partnerships and proposals for funding
- Building local organisations' capacity to access funds
- Liaising with funding bodies.
