Ways to get involved in delivering the Community Plan
It’s not just down to organisations such as the Council, Primary
Care Trust and Police to deliver change in Barnsley! The
involvement of everyone is needed and here are a few ways in
which you can be involved;
- One Barnsley Forum
These are held three times a year and offer an opportunity for
people to get to know about what is currently high on the LSP’s
agenda, ask questions and help inform future delivery.

- Community Partnerships
Fifteen Community Partnerships cover the whole of the borough.
They work to address community concerns about their
environment, skills and training, crime, health and employment
amongst other issues. They do so by carrying out local projects,
and activities.

- Barnsley Black and Ethnic Minority Initiative (BBEMI)
BBEMI exists to promote good race relations and racial harmony
amongst the black and minority ethnic community and the wider
community of Barnsley. It works in partnership to enhance the
quality of life and capacity to contribute to regeneration for
local black and minority ethnic residents. BBEMI offers a
multitude of opportunities for the black and minority ethnic
community to get involved.
