Barnsley Forum
Role/Description
The One Barnsley Forum is a larger consultative body of One Barnsley. The Forum is held 3 times a year and enables the public to meet with the Board and Delivery Partnerships. It provides an opportunity for agencies to discuss their work and consult with the public about how well they are delivering their services as well as discuss their priorities and seek opinion on new ways of delivering services. This is done in several ways such as providing market stalls displaying information from agencies as well as organising themed workshops to enable services to explore issues in greater details with those attending the event.
Over the past couple of years the following Forums have been held;
- Community Plan launch
- Delivering Neighbourhoods and Building Strong Communities
- Performance Management
- BBEMI Conference
Feedback from the Forums indicate that people feel that their time has been well spent, that they had increased their knowledge about the activities of the agencies and that they would attend future Forums. When asked about their preferred date for holding the event people stated that Saturday was the most popular response.
Whilst arrangements have not been finalised for this year’s Spring/Summer Forum it is anticipated that the Forum will be held on a Saturday in early June.
We will be taking the event out of the townhall and into the centre of Barnsley. All the main agencies in Barnsley will be represented and will be providing a range of activities and information. More details will appear once the arrangements have been finalised.
