Role/Description
Role/Description
One Barnsley Board – The board provides a vision and strategic direction for the Partnership. They have an overview of performance, focusing on exception reporting and remedial action where appropriate.
It provides the ultimate decision making within the LSP and members are Chief Executive level officers from agencies involved in Barnsley. It is expected that officers will be able to make commitments and contributions on behalf of their organisation where relevant.
- Agree policy, strategy and priorities for the Sustainable Community Strategy;
- Adopt, monitor, review and evaluate the Sustainable Community Strategy;
- Ensure that the arrangements work inclusively and effectively;
- Approve the annual report submitted to One Barnsley Forum;
- Manage the Local Area Agreement;
- Improve partnership working;
- Increase public awareness of and facilitate public involvement in the community planning process;
- Co-ordinate responses to government and other bodies on cross partnership and other overarching strategic issues.
It is responsible for the developing the long term vision and strategy for Barnsley and ensuring it is delivered. It therefore produces the following:
- The Sustainable Community Strategy;
- The Barnsley Central Investment Plan;
- The Local Area Agreement;
- Annual Self Assessment and Report;
