Economy and Culture Board
The Economy and Culture Board board was first established in late 2009, but evolved from the much longer established Barnsley Development Agency board and Economic Forum.
With the Barnsley Economic Growth Plan (available to download here) and Barnsley´s Local Economic Assessment as its key strategic documents it provides the strategic direction for economic and cultural development across the Barnsley borough. This is wide ranging and includes development of the Town Centre, Tourism, Enterprise, Skills, Digital Infrastructure, Cultural industries and much more.
The board reports directly to the One Barnsley Board and is supported by a number of sub groups which include:-
- Cultural Consortium
- Work and Skills Board
- Enterprising Barnsley
- Digital Region
- Town Team Executive
- Barnsley Central Investment Plan Strategic Group.
